Standalone Binary & Systemd Service Deployment

Deploying RUSEON Core as a native standalone binary delivers maximum possible streaming throughput and lowest CPU/memory overhead. It eliminates containerization abstraction layers, granting direct access to Linux kernel I/O system calls (sync_file_range, FADV_DONTNEED).

1. Installation Steps (Linux)

Create a Dedicated System User

bash
sudo useradd -r -s /bin/false -d /var/lib/ruseon ruseon

Create Required Directories

bash
sudo mkdir -p /opt/ruseon/bin
sudo mkdir -p /etc/ruseon
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/ruseon/data
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/ruseon/recordings
sudo mkdir -p /var/lib/ruseon/backups

sudo chown -R ruseon:ruseon /var/lib/ruseon

Download or Copy Binaries

Place the compiled ruseon binary in /opt/ruseon/bin/ and make it executable:

bash
sudo cp ruseon /opt/ruseon/bin/ruseon
sudo chmod +x /opt/ruseon/bin/ruseon
sudo cp config.example.yaml /etc/ruseon/config.yaml

2. Systemd Service Configuration

Create /etc/systemd/system/ruseon.service:

ini
[Unit]
Description=RUSEON Core High-Performance Video Infrastructure
After=network.target network-online.target
Wants=network-online.target

[Service]
Type=simple
User=ruseon
Group=ruseon
WorkingDirectory=/var/lib/ruseon
ExecStart=/opt/ruseon/bin/ruseon -config /etc/ruseon/config.yaml

Restart=always
RestartSec=5s

# Resource limits for high-concurrency streaming
LimitNOFILE=65535
LimitNPROC=32768

# Security hardening
ProtectSystem=full
ProtectHome=true
NoNewPrivileges=true
CapabilityBoundingSet=CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE
AmbientCapabilities=CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE

# Performance environment variables
Environment=GOMEMLIMIT=4GiB
Environment=GOMAXPROCS=4
Environment=RUSEON_ENV=production

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

3. Managing the Service

bash
# Reload systemd daemon
sudo systemctl daemon-reload

# Enable automatic startup on boot and start now
sudo systemctl enable --now ruseon

# Check service status
sudo systemctl status ruseon

# View live structured log output
sudo journalctl -u ruseon -f

Windows Service Deployment

On Windows Server, you can run RUSEON Core as a background service using NSSM (Non-Sucking Service Manager):

powershell
# Install RUSEON as a Windows Service
nssm install RuseonCore "C:\RUSEON\bin\ruseon.exe" "-config C:\RUSEON\config.yaml"
nssm set RuseonCore AppDirectory "C:\RUSEON"
nssm set RuseonCore Start SERVICE_AUTO_START

# Start the service
nssm start RuseonCore
