Web UI: Interactive Archive & Timeline Player Guide
The Archive Player enables operators to investigate incidents, review historical footage across multiple cameras, and export verified video clips.
1. Timeline Navigation & Zoom Levels
- Continuous Time Scrubbing: Drag the playhead marker along the horizontal timeline to seek to any second instantly.
- Dynamic Zoom Scale: Use the mouse wheel or zoom buttons to change the timeline scale:
- 24-Hour View: Overview of daily recording coverage.
- 1-Hour View: Detailed hourly inspection.
- 10-Minute & 1-Minute Views: Frame-accurate seeking down to specific seconds.
- Color-Coded Event Highlights:
- 🟩 Green Spans: Continuous 24/7 video recording.
- 🟧 Orange Markers: AI object detection and motion events.
2. Calendar Date Picker
The calendar widget displays historical footage availability:
- Days with stored fMP4 recordings are highlighted with status dots.
- Selecting a day automatically loads that day's recording timeline from BadgerDB in
< 20ms.
3. Playback Speeds & Variable Rate Play
Adjust playback rate seamlessly without audio pitch distortion:
- Speeds:
0.5x,1.0x (Normal),2.0x,4.0x,8.0x,16.0x. - Frame-by-Frame Stepping: Use keyboard arrow keys ($\leftarrow$ / $\rightarrow$) to step forward and backward by individual keyframe intervals.
4. Video Clip Export Workflow
- Click the Export Clip button on the timeline toolbar.
- Drag the Start and End markers on the timeline (or enter exact timestamps).
- Click Download MP4.
- The server packages the exact fMP4 fragments into a standard standalone
.mp4file and streams it directly to your browser download manager.
